Day before trip: Getting to Ha Giang
DAY 1: HA GIANG CITY – YEN MINH TOWN – DONG VAN
(Highlights: Open Air Jeep Tour – Heaven Gate – Bac Sum Pass – Tham Ma Pass – H’mong King Palace)
8:30 AM: After the the breakfast at our hostel in Ha Giang. Hop on the open air jeep car and your Ha Giang Jeep Tour starts. Embark on a journey towards Bac Sum Pass, making your way up to Heaven Gate, where you can soak in the breathtaking views of the twin mountains and Tam Son Town. After a lunch break in Yen Minh Town, continue your drive towards Dong Van, passing through Chin Khoanh Pass. Mesmerized by the magnificent Dong Van Karst, a remarkable geo-heritage site adorned with endless rice terraces, limestone rocks, and awe-inspiring vistas.This is also where you’ll get the first glimpse into the life of the local hill tribe people as they work on the surrounding land. Next, explore Hmong King’s Palace, a century-old residence belonging to Vuong Chinh Duc, the King of H’mong people. Finally, arrive at a cozy family-owned hotel in Dong Van, where Vietnamese local dinner awaits. You can also try some karaoke with the friendly local families.

DAY 2: DONG VAN TOWN – THIEN HUONG VILLAGE – NHO QUE RIVER – LUNG CU FLAGPOINT – DONG VAN TOWN
(Highlight on Ha Giang Loop: Thien Huong Village – Happiness Road – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Nho Que River – Lung Cu Flagpoint – Dong Van Town)
After breakfast we leave Dong Van Town by the jeep car to an old village of the Tay and Dzay people for hundred years named Thien Huong Village. You will feast your eyes towards The Ancient Banyan Tree and emerge yourself in winding roads around a serene village. We keep going to the Ma Pi Leng Pass, well known for its abrupt cliffs and breath-taking views. After that, head off to Nho Que river and enjoy a boat trip on emerald waters. Lung Cu Flagpoint, a monument to mark the northernmost point and a symbol of 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam, is the next visit of the day The Lung Cu Flagpole. You will be able to see the China border and when you climb up, a line separates our country to the outsider. In the end of the day, we go back to Dong Van Town and spend night in a hotel. You can definitely explore the old town at night time.

DAY 3: DONG VAN TOWN – MA PI LENG PASS – MEO VAC TOWN – DU GIA WATERFALL – DU GIA LOCAL VILLAGE
(Highlights: Happiness road – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Sky Path – Meo Vac Town – Du Gia Waterfall)
We pass by the Happiness Road again and have the opportunity you’ll have the opportunity to trek the Sky Path, which offers panoramic view of Ma Pi Leng Pass. On the way through the rustic villages and epic mountains of Meo Vac, Mau Due and Lung Ho, we get off the open jeep car to visit the waterfall where you can swim there. After that, we spend a night at Cheers Du Gia Homestay, located in the middle of green rice fields. Here, we and new comers will have a really big party with homecooked dinner by the local host family. Don’t forget to try the “Happy Water” – the Corn Wine, which is so unique and brings your party to the next level.

Step 3: We will send you a pre-payment link through email where you can make the deposit ($50) for the Trip.
Step 4: The rest of the payment ($159) can be paid at Vietnam Cheers Hostel. It should be paid 100% 48 hours before trip departure.
Passport, swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, warm clothes for the cooler months (Nov thru March), mosquito repellent, Some Cash, Phone with internet Sim-card, camera, a healthy appetite and a good attitude!
Travel Insurance is NOT included. We strongly recommend that passengers have their own travel insurance against illness, injury, loss/damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on confirmed departure dates.
Fees will be charged in event of booking cancellations:
- Before 48 hours: 25% of booking cost
- 24hours-48hours: 50% of booking cost
- within 24hours or no shows: 100% of booking cost
On the motorbike tour itself, please just bring what you need for 3 days only,
Due to limited vehicle space and the nature of accommodation, we ask that you limit yourself to a maximum of 10 kgs in a backpack or overnight bag.
We’re happy to offer you free luggage storage at Vietnam Cheers Hostel in Hanoi.
From Hanoi: The trip departs from our Vietnam Cheers Hostel at 5 Au Trieu Street, Hanoi Old Quarter at 7:30 pm.
- if you stay elsewhere in Hanoi, we will pick you up at 7:00 PM
From Sapa to Ha Giang: if you are in Sapa, please contact us for help. Our bus will pick you up from there.
From Ha Giang: We pick you up at any hostel in Ha Giang at 8:00 AM.
You will be eating local Vietnamese food prepared in various restaurants and accommodation along the way. If you are vegetarian, vegan or have any other dietary restrictions or allergies please inform us at the time of booking. We will be sure to accommodate you!
Our trips are fairly active, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed. If you have any doubts about your suitability for our trips, please check with our Travel Desk before making a booking. NOTE: Activities vary in duration and grade depending on the availability.
